Redbrook Millennium Green

Redbrook Millennium Green
Located in the Wye Valley AONB, was developed for the Millennium on a delict riverside area by community volunteers in the village of Redbrook, which spans across the borders of England & Wales. The Millennium Green forms a protected, tranquil open and freely accessible space, located on the Gloucestershire side of the River Wye. It regularly also serves as an informal recreation and community gathering area.

Managed by the Redbrook Millennium Green Trust, a registered charity (No. 1076400) with the Green being lovingly maintained by volunteers to provide a free, scenic, natural environment for all to enjoy, all year round whatever the weather.

Redbrook Millennium Green Trust At-a-Glance
  • Location: Redbrook, Gloucestershire
  • Charity Number: 1076400
  • Primary Purpose: To provide and maintain an open space for informal recreation, community events, and general enjoyment.

The Redbrook Annual Hog Roast
The annual Hog Roast is an established  staple of the Redbrook summer calendar, drawing the local community together on the green. The event is hosted by the Redbrook Millennium Green Charitable Trust with two primary goals in mind
  1. Fundraising for Upkeep: All proceeds generated from food and drink sales, the licensed bar, and raffles go directly toward the ongoing maintenance, insurance, and improvement of the green. Which amounts to typically over £4000 each year, with all costs having to be found by the local community.
  2. Community Spirit: It serves as a central meeting point and social hub. Paired with the local school's fete, live bands, bouncy castles, and family activities, the event transforms the open green space into a celebratory festival that unites the village of Redbrook and supports a great local cause.
If you are looking to plan a visit or want to find out when the next community event takes place, check out the Redbrook Village Official Website or keep an eye on the Redbrook Millennium Green Trust Facebook Page.

Other events
Other events are held on the Green such as the informal Christmas Carols & it hosting the Redbrook Christmas tree and lights each year.
